What is the Committee for Better Schools?

The Committee for Better Schools is a group of Easthampton residents, your friends and neighbors, who are committed to improving the teaching and learning conditions for Easthampton’s teachers and students.

What are we trying to do?

We want Easthampton’s children to perform to their greatest potential.  We have dedicated teachers and committed school administrators.  What we don’t have is adequate learning facilities.  Our goal is to see long overdue improvements brought to Easthampton’s school buildings.

Why do we need new school construction?
  • Our current school buildings are simply inadequate to provide students with an education that prepares them for 21st century challenges.
  • Our Elementary Schools are over 100 years old on average.  They are beyond renovation and must be replaced.
  • Our High School is over 40 years old and in need of critical upgrades
