WHY EASTHAMPTON SENIORS SUPPORT OUR SCHOOLS

Our parents, grandparents and great grandparents built our schools, and they have served us well.  But now it’s time to leave our educational legacy to future generations.

  • The elementary schools are over 100 years old on average, among the oldest in the entire state.  The high school is now over 40 years old.
  • Educational needs have changed dramatically during this time.  Our schools must prepare students for 21st century challenges, college, and the modern workforce.  This can’t happen in obsolete school buildings.
  • The “Greatest Generation” believes in community values and shared sacrifice.

Seniors have set an example of doing what’s right to serve the greater good.  Their children received a quality public school education, and they know maintaining high quality schools is an important investment for everyone in our community.

  • Schools are centers of the community, and upgraded schools mean upgraded facilities that the entire community will have access to.
  • Others have had their turn, now it’s time to take care of our students and teachers.
  • In the last few years, we’ve finally established a permanent home for the Senior Center, built an impressive Public Safety Complex housing the Police and Fire Departments, and given a proper home to the Mayor’s office and other city agencies at 50 Payson Ave.
  • Now it’s time to start the long overdue process to provide our students and teachers with adequate facilities.

There is never a “good time” to spend money, but there is a “right time.”

And the right time is now for Easthampton Schools.
