To The Editor:As so many before me have stated, we in Easthampton need to pass the override for our schools. I wish it were just a simple matter of every voter realizing the necessity of the override and voting for it without hesitation, but it seems there are still those in Easthampton opposing it and it is troubling to try to understand why. Why is it ok to send our children to outdated and poorly functioning school buildings in this day and age? Why is it ok to consider renovating these buildings despite the obvious fact that this would be a financial burden for which no reimbursement would be available? Obviously, passing this override means a financial commitment for all taxpayers in Easthampton but please consider how worthy this will be. Just imagine what we could offer our children and families if we had state of the art schools like nearly every other community in this commonwealth! My hope is that there are enough voters to pass this override overwhelmingly, and show our pride and sense of hope for our youth!Thank you,Liz Pinard7 Beechwood AvenueEasthampton, MA 01027
